MINI Cooper Tire Pressure

2022 MINI Cooper Countryman Wheel

Knowing how to check tire pressure is crucial to avoid accelerated tire tread wear, low responsiveness, poor handling, and a declining fuel economy. The recommended MINI Cooper tire pressure is typically around 35 PSI. However, you should consult your owner’s manual for specifics regarding your model.

The above issues can occur whether the tire pressure is too low or too high, so maintaining the recommended tire pressure for the MINI Cooper is essential. How to Check Tire Pressure on a MINI Cooper

It’s relatively easy to check your MINI Cooper tire pressure with a tire pressure gauge, which you can purchase at our parts center. If you don’t have a tire pressure gauge, most Fort Collins gas stations will have air hoses with a tire pressure gauge attached. To check if your vehicle is at the recommended tire pressure for the MINI Cooper, just unscrew the cap on the valve stem on each tire, carefully insert the gauge, and adjust the pressure as needed.

MINI Cooper Tire Pressure Reset

Every new MINI vehicle has a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) that will alert you if and when your MINI Cooper tire pressure is outside the recommended range. If the TPMS light is activated, one or more of your tires are under or overinflated. When the MINI dashboard warning lights indicate an issue with the TPMS, you should check your tire pressure as soon as possible. Once you have addressed the problem by adding or releasing air from your tires, your TPMS light should reset automatically. If it doesn’t, you may need to reset it manually. Here’s how:

  1. Start the engine and push the button on the end of the turn signal lever until “SET/INFO” is displayed in the dashboard vehicle message center next to your odometer display.
  2. Press and hold the button until the message changes, and continue scrolling through messages by pushing the button until you see the tire monitor symbol and reset is displayed.
  3. Press and hold the button until the display changes.
  4. The vehicle is ready to recalibrate the TPMS system on your next drive. After a few minutes of driving, the system will calibrate to the newly installed or adjusted tires and adequately set the pressures to be monitored.
